Bajaj Pulsar 220F Gets A Refreshed Look For 2019

Bajaj Auto has updated the Pulsar 150 range, Pulsar 180 and the Pulsar 220F for the upcoming year. We’ve already brought you spy images of the Pulsar 150 Twin-disc which was spotted at a dealership. You can read more about it here. That said, Bajaj has now launched the Pulsar 220F with a few cosmetic updates to keep it looking relevant. Surprisingly, it retains the same price tag as before. Priced at Rs 96,422 (ex-showroom Pune), the 2019 Pulsar 220F is available in two colour options - blue or red over black.

In terms of updates, the Pulsar 220F receives the exact same graphics option as the Pulsar 150 Twin-disc. The new sporty graphics runs from the front fender, fairing and tail section of the bike and contrasts well with the black paint job. Additionally, the bike gets an underbelly cowl and faux carbon-fibre texturing on the side panels. Apart from these changes, the bike remains unchanged. Though the Pulsar 150 Twin-disc and the Pulsar 220F miss out on ABS, we can expect Bajaj to introduce this safety feature pretty soon as both the bikes were spotted testing with the same quite recently.

As for its powertrains, it retains the same BSIV-compliant, 220cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 21PS of power at 8500rpm and 19Nm of torque at 7000rpm. A 5-speed gearbox transfers power to the rear wheel via chain drive.

It’s a similar story in terms of mechanicals. The bike gets telescopic front forks and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear. Braking duties are handled by a single disc on both ends. A 15-litre fuel tank has been proven to be sufficient for long hauls. The Pulsar 220F faces off against the Hero Karizma ZMR, the age old rivals still going at it. However, if you’re looking for something more modern that does the job equally well, you should have a look at the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V.
