Parijat tree is known as a divine plant for various reasons.
As per the legend touching the Parijat tree can eliminate your fatigue. If you go by mythology, then it is believed that there was a tree in Indralok, the touch of which would relieve the fatigue of Urvashi, the nymph of Indralok.
Here are some of the characteristics of Parijat plant which PM Narendra Modi planted today.
The Parijat, also known as Coral Jasmine Tree is believed to be Kalpa Vriksh or Kalpa Taru (wish-granting tree), one of the many Ratnas (jewels) that emerged from the cosmic ocean (Krishrasagara) at the time of Samudra Manthan in the Satyuga.
It is believed that the Parijat tree came out during Samudra Manthan, which Devraj Indra planted in his garden.
Parijat tree is usually 10 to 15 feet high, but in some places, it is 25 to 30 feet high. The plant bears white flowers that are beautiful, attractive, and full of fragrance.
The Parijat tree blooms abundantly in a short span of time. It finds a mention in the Puranas and other sacred texts. These flowers bloom at night and fall on the ground all by themselves. Therefore, it is the only flower that can be offered to Gods after directly taking them from the ground.
