It is believed that the Parijat tree came out during Samudra Manthan, which Devraj Indra planted in his garden. Parijat tree is usually 10 to 15 feet high, but in some places, it is 25 to 30 feet high. The plant bears white flowers that are beautiful, attractive, and full of fragrance. The Parijat tree blooms abundantly in a short span of time. It finds a mention in the Puranas and other sacred texts. These flowers bloom at night and fall on the ground all by themselves. Therefore, it is the only flower that can be offered to Gods after directly taking them from the ground.
