Andhra Pradesh: Minor Girl Dies By Suicide Over 'Sexual Harassment' By TDP leader
The TDP leader allegedly befriended the minor girl through Facebook and then sexually exploited her.
A student died by suicide in Kadiri constituency of Andhra Pradesh alleging sexual harassment by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Rallapally Imtiaz. The intermediate student had recorded a video narrating her ordeal before killing self.
The TDP leader allegedly befriended the minor girl through Facebook and then sexually exploited her. Kadiri Police have now taken the accused into custody.
The ruling YSRCP has strongly condemned the incident and demanded justice for the victim.
Vasireddy Padma, the head of the Andhra Pradesh State Women's Commission, condemned the incident and said, "Such horrific incidents by TDP leaders have become frequent, and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s silence is shocking. Naidu continues to be a mute spectator and unwilling to act against his party. The people of Andhra Pradesh won’t forgive, nor forget this."

She later spoke to Sri Sathya Sai district SP and asked him to complete the investigation swiftly and demanded that the accused be severely punished.
Recently, another minor girl in Andhra Pradesh's Vijayawada died by suicide, alleging sexual harassment by a Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader.
The girl, who jumped from the fifth floor of a building, was studying in Class 9. She wrote in a suicide letter that she was taking her own life because TDP leader Vinod Jain had sexually harassed her.
A case was registered against Vinod Jain following a complaint by the girl's family members. ACP Hanumantrao said an FIR was filed against the accused under Section 306 of IPC and the POCSO Act. Police said the suspect was arrested.
