'Achcha Hua': Aamir Khan Reacts To Box Office Failure Of Son Junaid's Film 'Loveyapa'

Aamir Khan has always been open about his son Junaid Khan’s journey in Bollywood, and he recently shared his thoughts on Junaid’s career following his big-screen debut.

Aamir Khan has always been open about his son Junaid Khan’s journey in Bollywood, and he recently shared his thoughts on Junaid’s career following his big-screen debut. Junaid starred opposite Khushi Kapoor in the romantic comedy Loveyapa, which generated significant buzz but struggled to perform at the box office.

However, instead of being discouraged, Aamir viewed the setback as a valuable learning experience for his son.

Aamir’s Positive Take on Loveyapa’s Box Office Struggles

In an interview with Instant Bollywood, Aamir addressed Loveyapa’s underwhelming performance, saying, “Accha hua" (It’s good that it happened). He emphasised that encountering challenges early in one’s career plays a crucial role in personal and professional growth.

“I think he’s doing well, and he will continue to learn," Aamir added, reflecting on Junaid’s journey so far.

Praising Junaid’s Dedication and Acting Skills

Aamir commended Junaid’s dedication and commitment, noting that his son has made a solid start despite the initial challenges. He particularly highlighted Junaid’s ability to immerse himself fully into the characters he portrays.

Referring to Junaid’s work in Maharaj and Loveyapa, Aamir shared, “While watching Maharaj, I felt he became the person, and in Loveyapa too, he is convincingly Gaurav."

Acknowledging Junaid’s Areas for Improvement

While praising Junaid’s acting abilities, Aamir also acknowledged areas where his son could improve. He admitted that, much like himself, Junaid isn’t particularly skilled at dancing and finds social interactions, especially media interviews, a bit challenging.

Aamir noted that Junaid often gives quirky and unconventional responses during interviews, which mirrors his own initial struggles with public appearances.

Aamir Sees Shades of Himself in Junaid

When asked whether he sees glimpses of himself in Junaid, Aamir candidly admitted that he does. He recalled how he, too, was shy and hesitant during his early days in the industry, facing similar challenges in handling media interactions.

Optimistic About Junaid’s Growth

Despite the initial hurdles, Aamir expressed confidence in Junaid’s ability to learn, adapt, and grow both as an actor and as an individual. He emphasised that early struggles can be a blessing in disguise, helping one build resilience and work harder.

Aamir concluded by highlighting the strong value system that he and Junaid share, which often leads them to make unconventional choices that may seem impractical to others but hold deep personal meaning.
