9 Dead, 2 Seriously Injured After Car Falls Into Ditch In Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh
Nine people have died and two seriously injured after a car fell into a ditch in Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh police said.
Nine people died and two were seriously injured after a car fell into a ditch at the Munisyari block of Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand, Police and SDRF team have arrived at the accident spot, Nilesh Bharne, IG Kumaon said. Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has condoled the deaths and said a rescue team has been dispatched to the spot. "Very sad news has been received about the casualties of many people due to the accident of a vehicle coming from Shama in Bageshwar towards Nachni in Pithoragarh. A rescue team has been dispatched for relief and rescue work. I pray to God for peace to the departed souls. Om Shanti," he wrote on Twitter.

The police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been rushed to the accident site. The police administration said that only after completing the rescue, they will confirm the casualty figures. It is suspected that the land erosion in the area may have caused the accident.
One Killed In Arunachal Pradesh Road Accident
One person was killed and another man was injured when the vehicle carrying them skidded off a road and fell into a gorge in Lower Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh , police said here on Thursday. The accident occurred at a place, 25 km from Likabali town, on the Likabali-Basar-Aalo road on Wednesday, Likabali police station officer in-charge Inspector Bisor Boje said.
The vehicle was on its way to Gensi from Likabali. Owner of the vehicle, Tumi Doke, died on the spot while the driver identified as Ige Nada was seriously injured, the police officer said.
