7 New Judges Take Oath In Andhra Pradesh High Court

Hyderabad: Seven new appointees of the Andhra Pradesh High Court were sworn in as judges on Monday.
The new judges are Justice Konakanti Srinivas Reddy, Justice Gannamaneni Ramakrishna Prasad, Justice Venkateshwarlu Nimmagadda, Justice Tarlada Rajasekhar Rao, Justice Satti Subbareddy, Justice Ravi Chimalapati and Justice Vaddiboina Sujatha.

Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra administered the oath of office to them. Several fellow judges and lawyers congratulated the new judges after the ceremony.

President Ramnath Kovind had earlier approved the appointment of seven judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The Supreme Court collegium, headed by Chief Justice NV Ramana, proposed the panel of names to the Centre after a decision was taken at a meeting on January 29.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court is expected to have 37 judges, but had been functioning with only 20 judges. With the latest appointments, the number of judges in the AP High Court has gone up to 27 now.
