World Food Day 2022: History, Significance, And All That You Need To Know About

World Food Day 2022: This day is celebrated to raise awareness of the millions of people who cannot afford a balanced meal and need regular access to wholesome food.

New Delhi: Every year on October 16, World Food Day is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the foundation of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations. This day is celebrated to raise awareness about the millions of people who cannot afford a balanced meal and need regular access to wholesome food.

World Food Day 2022: A Brief History

In November 1979, Dr. Pal Romany, a former agricultural and food minister of Hungary, introduced the idea of World Food Day. Since then, more than 150 nations throughout the world celebrate World Food Day to mark the anniversary of the foundation of the Food and Agriculture Organization.

The primary goal of World Food Day is to honour the advancement of global food security, particularly during times like the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Food and Agriculture Organization played a crucial role in order to reach the goal. This day also serves to remind people of the importance of this organisation and the need for governments all over the world to establish and carry out improved agriculture policies in order to ensure that there is enough food for everyone.

World Food Day 2022: Theme

The theme for World Food Day 2022 is 'Leave No One Behind'. In 2022, the world faces an ongoing pandemic, wars, a warming environment, increasing costs, and international tensions. These factors have significantly impacted global food security. The nations must create a sustainable future in which everyone, everywhere has regular access to sufficient nourishing food and nobody is left out.

World Food Day 2022: Significance

In our culture, some individuals are able to savour the greatest foods without giving it a second thought, while others struggle to eat anything at all.

World Food Day is an occasion to raise awareness about the people who aren't fortunate enough to have even one meal a day, as well as to celebrate the mouthwateringly good food that we are fortunate enough to eat.

Around the world, millions of people struggle with hunger and lack access to enough food to survive. Before it's too late, the world has to acknowledge and address the catastrophe of starvation.
