Sahil Arya, who is the co-founder and director at Fat Tiger shared a comparative anaysis of the taste and texture of wheat momos Vs the regular ones.
 
Taste: Regular or conventional momos are known for their softness and slightly chewy texture because of the usage of all-purpose flour. They have a moderate, neutral flavour that lets the filling inside stand out. Also,  traditional momos usually arrive in a variety of flavours or fillings and can be cooked in different ways, like steamed, fried, grilled, and with a variety of fillings including vegetables, paneer, or non-veg. 
 
On the other hand, wheat momo gives a little nuttier flavour. It is a favourite among individuals who enjoy a more robust taste as wheat momo complements certain fillings. However, it might be less delicate for others who prefer the typical momos taste. 
 
Texture: Regular momos are usually known for their softness and their delicate skin texture which when perfectly steamed eventually melts in your mouth. Because all-purpose flour is used, the dough seems thin, and translucent which contrasts with the different fillings. 
 
But, wheat momos have a tendency to be a little thicker and heartier. Some people may prefer this one because of its more solidness than the conventional momos and its distinctive texture.

Dr. Santosh Pandey who is a Naturopath and Acupuncturist at Rejua Energy Centre, Mumbai said, "Wheat momos have the potential to be a nutritious and satisfying dish when prepared with wholesome ingredients and cooked in a healthy manner. By choosing whole wheat wrappers and filling them with a variety of nutrient-rich ingredients."
 
Additionally, he laid down the nutrition benefits of wheat momo:
  • Whole Grain Goodness: If you use whole wheat flour to make the momo wrappers, you benefit from the fiber and nutrients present in whole grains. Whole wheat is rich in dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which promote digestive health and provide sustained energy.
  • Low in Fat: Wheat momos can be a low-fat option when compared to fried or oily snacks. Steam-cooked or pan-fried momos contain minimal added fats, making them a healthier choice for those watching their fat intake.

In addition to him, Richa Anand, who is the Chief Dietician at Dr. LH Hiranandani Hospital, Powai, Mumbai said, "Wheat momos are rich in dietary fibre which helps in better digestion and makes you feel fuller for longer. Therefore, wheat momos can be the perfect food choice for those who want to satisfy their cravings and that too maintain an ideal weight. Additionally calorie content in wheat momos is also lesser, making them a good option for individuals watching their calorie intake. They are a great source of complex carbs, which release your energy gradually keeping you energized all day."
 
"Wheat momos cater to a wider audience covering individuals who are gluten sensitive or intolerant. They are usually suitable for vegetarians with a filling of plant-based ingredients and this proves wheat momos the best option for people with dietary limitations," she further added.
 
In conclusion, the preference of choosing regular or wheat momos is based on personal choice and taste. Wheat momos can be a good choice if someone is seeking a healthier option compact with nutritional advantages. However, there is no harm if regular momos are consumed occasionally if you like delicate, classic, and soft textures.
