"Red, pink, and shades of burgundy are traditional colours associated with Valentine's Day. Incorporating these hues into your outfit can help create a romantic atmosphere. While it's essential to look stylish, comfort is also key, especially if you'll be spending a significant amount of time with your partner. Choose clothing that makes you feel confident and at ease," she said.

In addition, Neha Jain, who is a Designer at Latin Quarters, shares tips that are ideal for a night out as well as easy looks for a casual date.

1. Introduce a few red pops covertly

Valentine's Day always feels like the colour red, radiating warmth and affection. But wait! Who asked you to drown in it or resemble a living Valentine's card? Rock that all-red dress paired with a nude bag and sleek black heels. Opt for a lip colour slightly lighter than your dress, and keep the rest of your makeup understated. It's time for a Valentine's look that's chic, unique, and far from cliché.

2. Flowy skirt for swirling and spinning

Planning a ‘Galentines’? Go for a flirtatious skirt, pretty corset top, nude kitten heels and charming hat to make a fail-safe combination for your upcoming date with your besties. Let your skirt skim a little above the knees. A ‘no makeup’ make up look goes along perfectly. Apply some glitter highlighter and leave your hair loose in long beachy curls. Opt for a clutch or crossbody bag in a complementary colour to tie your outfit together.

3. Put a tempting twist in It

A satin or silk spaghetti strap maxi dress is all you need to turn up the heat this V-day! Opt from a diverse range of patterns, cuts, and designs to match - whether it's a planned evening with your date or a lively gathering. Add a touch of blush to your cheeks, along with a sleek up-do and a hint of eyeliner, will effortlessly achieve the glamorous appearance you desire. And don’t forget to use loads of mascara.

4. A mini dress adorned with sequins and glitter

This V-Day, if your inner party queen is stirring, then it's time to bust out that mini sequined dress! Get ready to sprinkle some glitter and glam onto your night. Pair it with bold earrings and flashy silver or gold heels to amp up the fun. Keep your makeup fresh and nude for that effortlessly cool vibe. With this killer outfit, you're all set to rock Valentine's Day with your favourite person in tow!

Tips For Men To Dress Up For Valentine's Day

Pinky Rai, who is the Design Team Lead at The Indian Garage Co (TIGC) suggested some cool fashion tips for men on Valentine's Day:

  • Wear a Pop of Red: Incorporate the colour of love into your outfit by adding subtle red elements. It could be a red tie, pocket square, socks, or even a stylish red shirt or sweater.
  • Classic Suit with a Twist: Go for a classic suit but add a twist. Consider a slim-fit suit in a deep shade like burgundy or navy, or mix and match your suit with a coloured blazer.
  • Smart Casual Look: If you're going for a more casual vibe, choose well-fitted jeans or chinos paired with a stylish shirt or a sweater. A button-down shirt in a bold colour or pattern can add a touch of sophistication.
  • Don't forget accessories: A well-chosen watch, a classy leather belt, or cufflinks can elevate your overall look. Consider wearing accessories with a hint of red for that Valentine's touch.
  • Statement Shoes: Make a statement with your footwear. A stylish pair of shoes, whether it's classic leather, suede, or a bold colour, can complete your look and show attention to detail.
  • Grooming Matters: Pay attention to grooming. A well-groomed beard, neatly styled hair, and good personal hygiene always contribute to a polished appearance.
  • Layer with Style: Depending on the weather, layering can add a touch of sophistication. A well-fitted blazer, cardigan, or a stylish coat can complement your outfit.
  • Fragrance: Choose a subtle and pleasing fragrance. It adds a personal touch and shows that you've put thought into every aspect of your appearance.
  • Comfort is Key: While dressing up is fun, make sure you feel comfortable in what you're wearing. Confidence is attractive, and being comfortable will help you relax and enjoy your date.
  • Personal Touch: Consider incorporating something personal into your outfit, like a piece of jewellery with sentimental value or an accessory that reflects your interests.

Remember, the key is to express your style while keeping the occasion in mind. Whether you're going for a romantic dinner or a casual outing, these tips can help you put together a stylish and thoughtful Valentine's Day look.
