Rabindra Jayanti 2024: Politicians To Actors- Social Media Gets Filled With Posts As They Pay Tribute To Tagore

To mark the memorable occasion, politicians, musicians, actors and many others took to their social media handles and shared small posts to pay tributes to Rabindranath Tagore.

Rabindra Jayanti 2024: The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore- the Bengali polymath, who was a poet, a writer, a playwright, a composer, a social reformer and a painter is celebrated in Bengal on 'Pochishe Boishakh'. However, as per the English calendar, his birthday falls on May 7, but since 'Pochishe Baisakh' falls on May 8, the celebrations in Bengal are taking place today, marking his 163rd birth anniversary. 

To mark the memorable occasion, politicians, musicians, actors and many others took to their social media handles and shared small posts to pay tributes to Rabindranath Tagore.

Social Media Posts As Eminent People Paid Tributes To Rabindranath Tagore On His Birth Anniversary:

Mallikarjun Khadge took to X and wrote a few lines on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti. Quoting a line by Tagore, he wrote "Civilisation must be judged and prized, not by the amount of power it has developed, but by how much it has evolved and given expression to, by its laws and institutions, the love of humanity. ~ Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore"

"On Rabindra Jayanti, our humble homage to the multifaceted genius and one of the greatest thought leaders, the world has ever seen — Kavi Guru. A Nobel laureate, social reformer, poet, philosopher and humanist who penned our National Anthem, his progressive views and art shall continue to inspire generations," he added.

Chief Minister of Assam Himant Biswa Sarma also paid his tributes to the nobel laureate. He wrote, "Tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on #RabindraJayanti. A polymath, Asia's first Nobel laureate, social reformer, among a host of qualities which he possessed, Gurudev redefined Indian literature and deftly used it as means of national integration."

Tollywood actor also took to the social media platform to pay his tributes saying, "Today on the 25th of Baisakh, I offer Kavi Pranaam"

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shared a few lines from the poem 'Where the Mind Is Without Fear' on her X handle.

She wrote, "On this auspicious day of his birthday, I pay my homage to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore in his own words – “Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; … Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake."

PM Modi also took paid homage to Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore. He wrote, "I pay homage to Gurudev Tagore, on the occasion of his Jayanti. His enduring wisdom and genius continue to inspire and enlighten innumerable people across generations."

Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir shared a video and wished netizens on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti. He wrote, "As we celebrate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's 163rd birth anniversary today, we reflect on his profound impact and the poetic legacy that inspires our cultural aspirations. Let's live out the freedom he envisioned for us. Happy Rabindra Jayanti!"
 

Singer Iman Chakraborty also shared a post on X, on the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti.
