Rabindra Jayanti 2024: The birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore- the Bengali polymath, who was a poet, a writer, a playwright, a composer, a social reformer and a painter is celebrated in Bengal on 'Pochishe Boishakh'. However, as per the English calendar, his birthday falls on May 7, but since 'Pochishe Baisakh' falls on May 8, the celebrations in Bengal are taking place today, marking his 163rd birth anniversary.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee shared a few lines from the poem 'Where the Mind Is Without Fear' on her X handle.
