Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic clinched the coveted title of the 71st Miss World on Saturday.
New Delhi: Krystyna Pyszkova from the Czech Republic clinched the coveted title of the 71st Miss World on Saturday. Besting contestants such as Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon, Ache Abrahams from Trinidad and Tobago, and Lesego Chombo from Botswana, Krystyna secured the prestigious crown. Yasmina Zaytoun from Lebanon was adjudged the first runner-up.
Reigning Miss World 2023, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, crowned Krystyna in a ceremony hosted by Bollywood producer-director Karan Johar and Miss World 2013 winner Megan Young.

Miss India Sini Shetty failed to secure a spot in the top four in the beauty pageant. During the competition, Sini was questioned about the role of social media in empowering women globally, and her response may have fallen short of impressing the judges. She asserted that social media possesses the transformative ability to change the world, highlighting its role in fostering increased female participation across various domains. Additionally, she expressed the belief that social media holds the potential to guide the world towards progress.
She lost to Yasmina of Lebanon in the Asia and Oceania category. Shetty was crowned Miss India World in 2022.
A 12-member jury -- consisting of Miss World 2017 winner Manushi Chhillar, actors Kriti Sanon, Pooja Hegde; Julia Morley, chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organisation; film producer Sajid Nadiadwala, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh, and news personality Rajat Sharma -- judged the Miss World 2024 pageant.
The grand finale, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai was a gala event that showcased performances by Neha Kakkar, Tony Kakkar and Shaan.

The pageant unfolded across various venues, including the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi and witnessed 120 contestants from countries across the globe participate in various competitions and charitable initiatives. The entire event, which involved participants from over 130 nations, included a variety of rigorous activities like talent shows, sporting challenges, and philanthropic endeavours- all designed to highlight the qualities that make them ambassadors of change.
