The spiritual guru was born on Magha Purnima (full moon day in the month of Magh) as per the Hindu calendar in 1377 C.E. at Manduadih in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi.

Also known as Sant Ravidas, he made many contributions to the Bhakti movement through his spiritual songs, verses and teachings. He had also written 40 poems in the Adi Granth, which is the religious scripture in Sikhism.
