“Kerala High Court directs the Malappuram District Collector to file a report by May 12. Court also criticised the State government for not taking action against officers responsible for the tragic boat incidents,” the report said.

Meanwhile, murder charges have been invoked against the boat owner Nasar under section 302 IPC in Tanur boat tragedy.
On Sunday evening, a pleasure boat at a local tourist destination at Tanur in Malappuram, carrying around 40 people, capsized leaving 22 dead and 10 others injured. After the incident, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday announced a judicial probe into the accident and asked to form a special team for it.
Unconfirmed reports say that the boat did not have proper registration documents and fitness certification.
The boat pilot and his assistant managed to escape soon after the boat capsized and the police are also on the lookout for them.
