Kerala Assembly Adjourned Sine Die As Opposition Disrupts Question Hour
15th Kerala Assembly session, which started Monday, had to be adjourned after UDF-led oppn leaders waved placards & banners inside the House over gold smuggling case & attack on Rahul Gandhi's office.
The fifth session of the 15th Kerala Assembly, which started on Monday, was adjourned after sloganeering by the opposition over the gold smuggling case and attacks on Rahul Gandhi's office, allegedly by Student Federation of India (SFI) activists. The UDF-led opposition leaders waved placards and banners inside the House, which is a violation of the House norms.
The opposition leaders didn't pay heed even as Speaker MB Rajesh repeatedly urged them to refrain from waving banners and placards inside the House. The speaker announced the adjournment of the session and walked away without saying when it would recommence as the opposition was not willing to listen to his repeated requests.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan claimed that the opposition tried to disrupt the session and didn't voice out the reason for their protests.

Meanwhile, widespread protests by Congress were reported after the office of party MP Rahul Gandhi in Wayanad was allegedly attacked and ransacked by SFI members.
A group of SFI workers led by Wayanad district secretary Jishnu Sasi allegdly carried out the attack on the office of Rahul Gandhi, who is the member of Parliament from Wayanad. The incident occurred on Thursday and the presence of KR Avishith, who works with Kerala Health Minister Veena George, among the attackers had led to the Congress alleging that the CPI-M state leadership and the Government of Kerala were behind it.
While Veena George claimed that Avishith was removed from the staff post on June 15, the Congress has alleged that the incident occurred with the complete knowledge of the minister and the CPI-M state leadership.
