Kerala High Court Stays Criminal Proceedings Against Actor Sunny Leone In Cheating Case

Kerala High Court on Wednesday stayed the criminal proceedings against actor Sunny Leone, her husband Daniel Weber and an employee in a cheating case. A Kerala-based event manager, who registered a complaint against the three, alleged that Sunny Leone didn't turn up to perform in an event despite paying huge amount in lakhs.

A case was registered against Actor, her husband and her employee under the Indian Penal Code of Section 406 (criminal breach of trust), Section 420 (cheating and dishonesty inducing delivery of property) and Section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intension). The actress approached the high court seeking to quash the case.

The complainant alleged that the actor failed to attend Valentine's Day function in 2019, after taking a payment of Rs 29 Lakh, said an Indian Express report.

The actor in response to the allegations by the complainant claimed that she had been there to attend the event twice and the event wasn't held. Leone further alleged that the programme has been rescheduled several times by the organisers.
