The incident came to light after a hotel staff received a distress call from an individual reporting that Zareena Djeparova, a woman tourist from Uzbekistan, was unresponsive to the calls.

A 37-year-old woman from Uzbekistan was found dead within the confines of a local hotel room under suspicious circumstances in Seshadripuram of Bengaluru. The woman was identified as Zareena Djeparova.

Zareena Djeparova had recently arrived in India on a tourist visa and had checked into a hotel in Seshadripuram just four days prior to the incident. She had booked the hotel room for 10 days.

According to a report on PTI, the police have raised suspicions of foul play based on preliminary investigation. They suspect a possible case of strangulation in the hotel suite.

The incident came to light after a hotel staff received a distress call from an individual reporting that the woman was unresponsive to their calls.

Upon investigation, hotel staffer found the woman dead in her room. Following this, the police lodged an official complaint with the police. Subsequently, the body was transferred to Bowring Hospital for a thorough autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Authorities are currently scrutinising the CCTV footage from the hotel premises to determine if any other individual visited the deceased. Furthermore, they have also thoroughly examined the hotel's ledger, but no suspicious activities have been identified thus far.

According to Police Inspector Hemant Kumar of the Seshadripuram police, the unidentified suspect has been charged under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Additionally, authorities have informed the Ministry of External Affairs to reach out to the victim's family.

"We have gathered certain leads regarding the suspect and anticipate their swift arrest. The incident has been formally communicated to the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate contact with the deceased's relatives," Inspector Kumar affirmed, as per a report on Hindustan Times.
