Karnataka BJP Says Appointment Of Slain Party Activist's Wife 'Withdrawn', Calls Cong Govt 'PFI Puppet'

The BJP questioned Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah and the Congress over the alleged withdrawal of temporary appointment of slain BJP activist Praveen Nettaru's wife in Dakshina Kannada district.

The newly appointed Congress government in Karnataka has withdrawn the temporary appointment order of slain BJP activist Praveen Kumar Nettaru's wife from government services in Dakshina Kannada district, the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed on Saturday citing a report of this development. Nutan Kumari, the wife of the murdered BJP Yuva Morcha leader, was offered a Group C post on a contract basis in the office of former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai. Following her request, she was given the post of an assistant in the Chief Minister's Relief Fund section of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Mangaluru.

"Due to the communal hatred of PFI, a terrorist organisation nurtured by the Congress party has removed the wife of Praveen Nettaru from service. Our government had provided the job of DC of Mangalore to the wife of Praveen Nettaru, who was killed by the PFI goons. It is condemnable," Karnataka BJP tweeted in Kannada.

"It is condemnable that the Congress government that has come to power has continued its politics of hatred. We demand that the government immediately withdraw the inhumane order of dismissal. It is a tragedy for the state that Siddaramaiah's government is acting like a PFI puppet," it added.Karnataka BJP Says Appointment Of Slain Party Activist's Wife 'Withdrawn', Calls Cong Govt 'PFI Puppet

Temporary Staff Generally Asked To Leave, No Special Consideration Made For Nutan Kumari: Report

News agency IANS reported sources as saying that when governments change, temporary staff are generally asked to leave and no special consideration has been made for Nutan Kumari.

Nettaru was hacked to death on July 26, 2022. The case is currently being investigated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The initial probe had indicated that Nettaru's murder was revenge killing. More than 10 accused, including three assailants, have been arrested.

Following his death, activists ran a social media campaign urging the former Bommai government to provide a government job Nutan. The BJP had also built a house for Nettaru's family, IANS reported.

The Karnataka government is yet to respond to the matter.
