The accused identified as Tejas reportedly killed his girlfriend by slitting her throat with a knife after a quarrel. The crime occurred at Kunti Betta Hills in Karnataka. Tejas had been in a relationship with the victim, a final-year computer science engineering student, for more than six months. Notably, both the accused and the victim were affiliated with the same college, with Tejas being a senior to the victim, according to authorities.

According to a report on PTI, the couple was frequently engaged in conflicts and disputes but their relationship soured when the man discovered details about the woman's previous relationship, sparking a heated argument, according to a senior police officer.

Troubled by his confrontations over her past, she also expressed her desire to end the relationship. Despite her decision, on Thursday, he made her come to the main town under the pretext of discussing their issues.

Subsequently, he took her approximately 13 km away from the city to Kunti Betta Hills on his motorcycle. At the Kunti Betta Hills, another quarrel ensued, during which he took out a knife and slit her throat, the officer revealed.

Following the incident, the man hastily fled the scene on his two-wheeler, abandoning the injured woman. Local residents assisted in transporting her to a nearby hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries, according to the police.

The authorities have registered a case of murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code, and the accused, Tejas, has been apprehended in connection with the incident.
