Karnataka: Nine Killed In Accident After Tempo Traveller Collides With Milk Van In Hassan
Nine including four children were killed the accident. The two children Kandamma Druva and Tanmay are from Doddahalli while the remaining victims are from Salapur
Nine persons were killed on Saturday in a tragic road accident near Gandhinagar in Hassan district of Karnataka after a tempo traveller vehicle collided head-on with a milk van. Police said, the deceased were returning home from Dharmasthala, Subramanya, and Hasanamba temples when the mishap occurred.
The deceased were identified as Kandamma Druva, 2, Tanmay, 10, Leelavati, 50, Chaitra, 33, Samarth, 10, Dimpy, 12, Vandana, 20, Doddaiah, 60, and Bharati, 50. The two children Kandamma Druva and Tanmay are from Doddahalli while the remaining people, who died in the accident are from Salapur.

Other travellers were injured, and were shifted to a nearby hospital in Arisikere hospital in Hassan district, said an Asianet Kannada report. After getting to know about the accident, the police rushed to the spot and an investigation is underway.
Earlier this year in May, seven people were killed and 26 were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the outskirts of Hubballi in Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi while expressing grief announced an ex gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the people injured in the accident.
The bus was travelling towards Bengaluru from Kolhapur. As the bus approached Hubballi, the truck collided with the passenger bus killing six people on the spot.
