Karnataka Ministers Meet High Command In Delhi Amid Additional Deputy CM Row

The Congress officials emphasised that the primary objective of the meeting was to select suitable candidates and devise strategies to address the Rama temple issue effectively.

Karnataka Ministers have headed to New Delhi to attend a meeting organised by Congress party's central leadership to discuss strategies for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in the state. Amid the speculations that Rahul will address alleged 'infighting' in the party, Karnataka Minister Eshwar Khandre said that the deputy CM row was not on the agenda at all.

The Congress sources said Ministers K N Rajanna, K J George, B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan, G Parameshwara, Laxmi Hebbalkar, N S Boseraju and R B Thimmapur are among those who flew to the national capital in the morning.

The Congress officials emphasised that the primary objective of the meeting was to select suitable candidates and devise strategies to address the Rama temple issue effectively, ensuring it does not negatively impact the party's electoral chances in Karnataka.

Minister Rajanna, as per IANS, said, “If additional DyCM posts are created in the state before the Lok Sabha polls it would benefit the party. We have given suggestions to the high command in this regard. We will abide by the decision of the high command.”

“The high command has called a meeting of in-charge ministers of 28 MP seats in Karnataka. All of us would attend it,” he said.

However, Karnataka Minister Eshwar Khandre who arrived in Delhi for a meeting at AICC Headquarters told that the discussion was not part of agency. On the question of additional Deputy CMs in the state, he said, "Question of demand doesn't arise. It is not in the agenda at all."
