Ex-Karnataka CM Yediyurappa Denies Corruption Allegations, Says It's A Conspiracy Against Him

Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa is upbeat that he will come out unscathed after special court ordered Lokayukta Police to probe a case of corruption against him and others. He termed the corruption allegations him to be a "conspiracy".

"There is no truth in it. I've full faith in the judiciary. I'll come out without any problem. Definitely, (it’s a conspiracy against me)," Yediyurappa said as quoted by news agency ANI.

Earlier, Supreme Court stayed the Karnataka High Court's order refusing to quash the criminal proceedings against him under the Prevention of Corruption of Act, said a Times of India report. The proceedings were pertaining to allegations against Yediyurappa that he illegally denotified acres of land, acquired for an IT project, in the Varthur-Whitefield IT corridor in 2006-07.

An FIR was registered by Lokayukta police in December 2015, on a private complaint filed by Vasudeva Reddy.
