'Fulfill Your Dream, Shoot Me': K'taka Cong MP DK Suresh On BJP Leader's Threat Over 'Separate Country' Remark Row

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that a police case has been filed and appropriate legal measures will be taken against Eshwarappa.

Senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa can fulfill his dream by shooting me, said Karnataka Congress MP DK Suresh on Saturday. Earlier, Eshwarappa said that he would shoot DK Suresh over his "separate south nation" statement and called for a law that enables the killing of the Congress leader.

According to IANS, Suresh said, “Why do you (Eshwarappa) want to victimise the poor people by provoking them? Give me time, I will come all by myself and stand before you. Why do you need other people? You can fulfill your dreams by shooting me and get appreciation.”

Suresh alleged that the BJP's history and ideologies are well-known and attributed the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi to the party. He expressed concerns about alleged threats to his life following his advocacy for Kannada and the people of Karnataka.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, brother of MP Suresh, said that they do not seek an apology from Eshwarappa. Referring to past remarks made about their father in the assembly, Shivakumar indicated that any issues have been resolved.

Shivakumar emphasized that Suresh remains undeterred by threats of violence, challenging anyone to attempt harm. He highlighted the significance of Kempe Gowda's legacy and asserted Karnataka's unique history.

“If he wants to shoot him, let him do it. Does he know about the history of Kempe Gowda? We have our own history,” the Deputy Chief Minister said, as per the report.

Former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa maintained that legal action should be pursued if necessary against Eshwarappa, but cautioned against misinterpreting his statements. He affirmed readiness to confront any legal proceedings.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that a police case has been filed and appropriate legal measures will be taken against Eshwarappa. The police also issued a notice to former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader KS Eshwarappa regarding the issue on Saturday.
