Ahead of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presenting full budget on Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai believes that this budget will be a pro-people budget that will support the growth of the economy.
"India's economy is expected to grow at 6.8 per cent," said Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai as quoted by news agency ANI.

Earlier in December, The Chief Minister announced that the state budget will be presented in February for 2023-24. Bommai then said that he had held two rounds of talks with the Finance department.
As reported earlier, there are several expectations bound with the finance minister's fifth Union Budget for 2023-24. In the final full-year Budget before the general elections in 2024, the Narendra Modi-led government may also try to appease every sector of society to consolidate its grip on power. From major industries to MSMEs, salaried classes to farmers, and education to healthcare, everyone is eyeing some relief from this Budget.
CM Bommai on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Karnataka on February 6. He will inaugurate International Conference on India Energy Week in Bengaluru and inaugurate a helicopter manufacturing unit (HAL) at Tumkuru.
