Bengaluru People Burst Crackers In Potholes To Protest Against Bad Road Conditions

People in Mysore decorated potholes-riddled roads with lamps to grab attention and demanded the repairing of bad roads

People in Bengaluru celebrated Diwali by bursting crackers in potholes, after a biker, who was heading home, was crushed to death by a lorry in Bengaluru. People staged protests against bad conditions of roads on Diwali lighting diyas (lamps) around potholes on roads.

Meanwhile, even in Mysore, people decorated pothole-riddled roads with lamps to grab attention and demanded the repairing of bad roads.

A motorist was crushed to death by a truck on Bengaluru's pothole-ridden National Highway 48 on Sunday. The deceased had reportedly lost balance and fell down after which he was then run over by a truck from behind. The victim was a daily wage.

Meanwhile, BBMP has decided to train its engineers attacked with road infrastructure on ho to cover potholes. Recently, BBMP came under fire over its inability to fill the increasing number of potholes in the city, some of which have led to fatal accidents in the last few months.

According to reports, over 27,000 potholes were found in BBMP’s limits under ‘Fix My Street Application’, of which 14,000 potholes have been filled with bitumen mix and 4,000 complaints were ignored as the officials found them to be not so serious.

Earlier in September, it was reported that a pothole made it to the list of Google maps landmarks. The pothole referred to as Abizer's pothole, in the Bellandur area of Bengaluru had some reviews from motorists on Google.
