Supporting Meira Kumar in solidarity with joint opposition: DMK

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 18 (ANI): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Tuesday said that the party was strongly backing Presidential candidate Meira Kumar,

in solidarity with the joint opposition.

Talking to ANI (DMK) spokesperson A Sarvanan said, "Our leader MK Stalin time and again has opposed and voiced his concerns for the people of Tamil Nadu."

He further said that this is also the way to show support for the people of the country, as a way of manifestation to policies that are against welfare of the people.

"Our party has supported the joint candidate and we will continue to do so," he added.

The polling for the 15th Presidential Election concluded on Monday at 5 pm for which the voting took place at the Parliament House and in the state capitals.

A total number of 714 Members of Parliament exercised their votes.

The final counting will take place on July 20 and results would be announced on the same day.(ANI)
