Pyeongchang hosts unique Ski- robot challenge at Winter Olympics

Pyeongchang [South Korea], Feb. 13 (ANI): The Winter Olympics 2018 hosted a special competing event called the Edge of Robot- Ski robot challenge at South Korea on Monday.

A total of eight teams competed in the tournament from different universities for a cash prize of 10,000 dollars, reports the Verge.

The Ski-Robot tournament included an 80-meter Alpine skiing at Welli Hilli Ski Resort near the venue of the main Olympic tournament, Pyeongchang.

The extremely-low temperatures caused various robots to tumble down due to malfunctioning in the middle of the tournament.

There were a set of requirements that needed to be fulfilled by the participating robots including separate joints for elbows and knees, erect-body and a minimum height of 50 centimeters.

Taekwon V, a robot from the host country itself, won the tournament.(ANI)
