PM Modi, Andhra CM enquire about ailing DMK chief Karunanidhi

New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday enquired about the ill health of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M. Karunanidhi and prayed for his quick recovery.

The Prime Minister also spoke to Karunanidhi's son MK Stalin and daughter Kanimozhi regarding the same.

"Spoke to Thiru @mkstalin and Kanimozhi Ji. Enquired about the health of Kalaignar Karunanidhi Ji and offered any assistance required. I pray for his quick recovery and good health," the Prime Minister tweeted.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu also wished former chief minister of Tamil Nadu Karunanidhi for a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, DMK working president MK Stalin informed that party president Kalaignar M Karunanidhi's health has improved and that he is recovering steadily.

Addressing the media in Chennai, Stalin said, "he (Karunanidhi) is recovering steadily as his fever is coming down."

Earlier, several political leaders including Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, MDMK general secretary Vaiko, DMK's Dayanidhi Maran visited Karunanidhi at his residence in Gopalapuram on Thursday.

Karunanidhi is suffering from high fever due to Urinary Tract Infection and has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital since July 18. He is on intravenous antibiotics. (ANI)
