New Delhi: Safdarjung Hospital Doctors Go On Indefinite Strike; Here's Why

New Delhi: The resident doctors at Safdarjung Hospital here went on strike for indefinite period after their colleague was allegedly manhandled by the attendants of a patient. (All images: ANI)

The strike, from Wednesday, badly affected the patients who were asked to return from the emergency gate by the security guards without being treated. The emergency services were also interrupted at the hospital.

On the other hand, patients are at the losing end because of this strike. "Have come here for delivery of my daughter-in-law. Strike is going on here (Safdarjung Hospital ), where do we go now?" questioned Ramvati.

"Our security should be increased to check such attacks. Strike is indefinite,have lodged institutional FIR," Dheer Singh added.

"A patient assaulted a doctor alleging his treatment was being delayed by doctor.Such incidents aren't new to us," said President, Resident Doctors Association.
