Honeypreet Insan not co-operating in interrogation: Panchkula Police Commissioner

Panchukla (Haryana) [India], October 5 (ANI): The Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, on Thursday said that jailed Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's 'adopted' daughter Honeypreet Insan is not co-operating in the ongoing interrogation.

"Honeypreet is not co-operating in the interrogation as desired. If this continues, we will ask for a further remand," Panchkula Police Commissioner A.S. Chawla said.

Chawla further apprised that the person, who gave the whereabouts during the period Honeypreet was absconding, was also rounded up and is being interrogated by the police.

The Haryana Police on Thursday took Honeypreet to the Panchkula Sector-20 Police Station for questioning.

Honeypreet was sent to a six-day police remand by the Panchkula Court, earlier on Wednesday.

She arrived at the Panchkula court complex in the afternoon, along with Sukhdeep Kaur, another Dera follower, who gave her shelter during her abscond.

After a hunt of over a month by the police, Honeypreet was arrested on Tuesday at the highway near Chandigarh along with Sukhdeep.

The police was on the lookout for her in connection with the violence that broke out in Panchkula August 25, when Ram Rahim was declared guilty of rape by a special CBI court. (ANI)
