Gowhar Bhat murder: Killers indentified

Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir) [India] November 3 (ANI): Shopian Police on Friday identified the killers of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) youth wing leader Gowhar Bhat.

The four accused are members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Hizbul Mujahideen.

A case has been registered under Sections 302/34 of Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) and Section 16 of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (ULA(P)) in the Shopian police station.

A police investigation is underway.

District president of the BJP, Bhat was killed by militants in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian on Thursday.

The police found Bhat's body with his throat slit, and torture marks on his body.

According to police officials, he was abducted and later murdered.

The BJP has termed the killing of Gowhar Ahmad Bhat, with "real intolerance". (ANI)
