Budget '18 is fiscally responsible: Shaktikanta Das

New Delhi [India] Feb 1 (ANI): Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das on Thursday said that Union Budget 2018 is a fiscally responsible one.

Earlier in the day, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented the Union Budget in the Parliament.

The 15th Finance Commission member said that it is "a fiscally responsible budget that means business".

In a series of tweets, Das said, "A very comprehensive budget. It addresses the critical concerns in the economy. Agriculture and rural sector, healthcare and education, infrastructure and affordable housing continue to receive priority attention".

The former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) also added that borrowing will be non-disruptive.

"Net market borrowing of Rs 4.6 lakh crore is only a marginal increase over the current year. Borrowing will be non-disruptive and will not have crowding out effect on private sector borrowings", Das further wrote. (ANI)
