‘Reimagining India’ With Historian Vikram Sampath At ABP India@2047 Summit
The India@2047 Summit, hosted by ABP Network, will be held on May 6 in Delhi. Historian Vikram Sampath will be a featured speaker at the summit.

As India envisions its journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, ABP Network is all set to host a thought-provoking one-day conclave — the India@2047 Summit — on May 6, Tuesday, at the iconic Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.
The summit, which will be frontlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brings together an illustrious line-up of industry leaders, policymakers, visionaries, and changemakers to reflect on India’s path over the next two decades. Among the key sessions is ‘Reimagining India: Letters to the Future,’ featuring historian and author Vikram Sampath (FRHistS).
Who Is Vikram Sampath?
Sampath, a Bengaluru-based historian, is the author of ten acclaimed books, including Splendours of Royal Mysore: The Untold Story of the Wodeyars, Voice of the Veena: S. Balachander, and Indian Classical Music and the Gramophone. His two-volume biography on V.D. Savarkar — Savarkar: Echoes from a Forgotten Past and Savarkar: A Contested Legacy — as well as his recent works Bravehearts of Bharat and Waiting for Shiva: Unearthing the Truth of Kashi’s Gyan Vapi, have garnered national acclaim.
A doctorate holder in history and music from the University of Queensland, Australia, Sampath has held fellowships at premier global institutions and currently serves as Adjunct Senior Fellow at Monash University. He also founded the Archive of Indian Music and the Foundation for Indian Historical and Cultural Research (FIHCR), besides curating ARTH: A Culture Fest.
Sampath, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, has been recognised with several awards, including the Sahitya Akademi’s first Yuva Puraskar in English literature and the ARSC International Award for Excellence in Historical Research in New York for My Name Is Gauhar Jaan: The Life and Times of a Musician. The book was later adapted into the play Gauhar by Lillette Dubey.
His latest release, Tipu Sultan: The Saga of Mysore’s Interregnum (1760–1799), generated significant attention and prompted a debate regarding the polarising tenure of the ruler.
ABP Network's India@2047 Summit aims to serve as a vibrant platform where ideas are exchanged and strategies formed, with a special focus on empowering India’s youth — the architects of tomorrow.
Vikram Sampath’s session promises to offer a compelling historical lens to the future-focused discourse. The summit will be streamed live on the ABP LIVE official YouTube channel and website.
