Watch Ex-Diplomat Ajay Bisaria, Lt. Gen. Devendra Pandey Speak At ABP India@2047 Summit

The one-day ABP India@2047 Summit will explore India's progress and potential as it approaches its 100th year of independence.

As India charts its course towards Viksit Bharat, ABP Network brings to you another thought-provoking conclave, the 'India@2047 Summit,' to navigate the emerging challenges as the nation is set to mark a century of independence.

Frontlined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the one-day summit will be held at the Bharat Mandapam in Delhi on May 6, and will involve discussion among industry pioneers, visionaries, and changemakers on India's trajectory towards India@2047

The diverse line-up of speakers includes Ajay Bisaria, Former Indian High Commissioner and Lt. Gen. Devendra Pratap Pandey, Ex Chinar Corps Commander and Army War College Commandant. They will speak in the session titled 'India at the High Table: Navigating the New Order'.  

Who Is Ajay Bisaria?

Ajay Bisaria is a seasoned Indian diplomat with a distinguished career spanning over 35 years in the Indian Foreign Service. During this time, he has held several key diplomatic positions, including serving as the High Commissioner of India to Canada from March 2020 to June 2022, and as the High Commissioner to Pakistan from December 2017 to February 2020. Prior to this, he served as India's Ambassador to Poland and Lithuania from January 2015 to November 2017.

Bisaria has held significant roles within the Ministry of External Affairs, the Department of Commerce, and the Prime Minister’s Office, where he was a key aide to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee from 1999 to 2004. He authored the book 'Anger Management: The Troubled Diplomatic Relationship between India and Pakistan,' providing an insider's perspective on the complexities of Indo-Pak relations.

About Lt. Gen. Devendra Pratap Pandey 

Lieutenant General Devendra Pratap Pandey, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd.), Ex Chinar Corps Commander and Commandant, Army War College, is a distinguished former officer of the Indian Army, known for his leadership in counter-insurgency operations and strategic military roles.

Pandey is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Pune, and the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned into the 9th Battalion of the Sikh Light Infantry on December 14, 1985, with his career spanning nearly four decades, during which he held several key command and staff positions.

Lt. Gen. Pandey was the first Director General of the Territorial Army and later commanded the XV Corps, also known as the Chinar Corps, in Srinagar from March 2021 to May 2022. Subsequently, he served as the Commandant of the Army War College in Mhow until his retirement on June 30, 2024. 

Some of the other speakers are: PM Modi, Actor Amir Khan, Indian cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir, celebrity chef Gary Mehigan, TV host and author Bear Grylls.
