Ideas Of India: Devendra Fadnavis To Take A Deep Dive Into Role Of Collaborative Federalism In Nation-Building

Maharashtra's Deputy CM, Fadnavis will talk about the various features and benefits of state-state and state-Centre cooperation towards building a strong nation.

ABP Network's flagship event 'Ideas Of India Summit' is back with its third edition. The annual event, being held on February 23 & 24, comes right ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha election with the pertinent theme — 'The People's Agenda'. And to discuss the people's agenda will be one of the architects of the BJP's first win in Maharashtra in 2014 — Devendra Fadnavis.

Fadnavis is, in fact, the second-youngest person from Maharashtra to be sworn in as the Chief Minister. Fadnavis will take the stage with ABP's Rohit Saval at 'Ideas of India' in a session titled 'Collaborative Federalism: View from the States'. Currently serving as Maharashtra's Deputy CM, Fadnavis will talk about the various features and benefits of state-state and state-Centre cooperation towards building a strong nation.

'Collaborative (or cooperative) federalism has been one of the hallmarks of the Narendra Modi government. The Modi government even founded the nodal agency — Niti Aayog — to realise the goals of collaborative federalism.

Fadnavis during his stint in the Maharashtra Cabinet, both as the CM and the Deputy CM, has been part of several NITI Aayog meetings and initiatives. Fadnavis is also the co-chairperson of a state body — Maharashtra Institution for Transformation – MITRA — to ensure that the initiatives of collaborative federalism are properly implemented.

Devendra Fadnavis's tenure as the CM of Maharashtra was marked by several initiatives hailed across the nation. Among these was the 'Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems' project that made Maharashtra the first state in the country to launch a digital crime and criminal tracking and identification system.
