ABP Network Ideas Of India Summit Is Back, With Focus On 'Naya India'

Join the ABP Network's Ideas of India Summit on February 24-25 to hear from business leaders, cultural ambassadors, and politicians on the theme of "Naya India: Looking Inward, Reaching Out".

The second edition of the ABP Network "Ideas of India Summit", which will be held on February 24-25, takes place at a time of global geopolitical tensions and with just a year to go for the general elections in India. The theme for this year's summit is 'Naya India: Looking Inward, Reaching Out', and will see several business icons, cultural ambassadors, and politicians sharing their views.

The summit takes place as the world goes through a period of agitation when history is being challenged by forces seeking retribution and renewal. It is also a time when science is achieving the impossible as technology continues to democratise society.

The invasion of Ukraine is approaching the one-year mark, with Russian President Vladimir Putin showing no signs of backing out despite facing stiff resistance and minor gains.

In inscrutable China, massive protests broke out over the iron-fisted handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Iran saw thousands of anti-government protesters, especially women, taking to the streets in response to the alleged custodial death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who violated the country's hijab law.

In North America, forces of social conservatism are threatening the very foundations of liberal democracy.

South Asia has been plagued by economic instability, opening up ruling regimes to the scrutiny of intent. Employment and rising costs continue to be the main issues at home even as across borders, refugees endlessly await entry, having risked life for liberty.

At the heart of all these issues is a change in the axis of power, a questioning of old alliances and a challenging of received wisdom.

So, where does India stand at this moment in world history, with just a year left for the 2024 Lok Sabha election? A busy calendar is lined up for India, with elections to nine states, a resurgent southern India, a revitalised political opposition and a whole new generation impatient to lead across sectors.

India, which is presently the fifth-largest economy, has set its sights to become a developed nation by 2047. To achieve that goal, the government has prioritised infrastructure development and ramped up efforts towards 'Make in India', which is geared towards facilitating global investment into the country and strengthening local manufacturing and employment.

The second edition of the ABP Network Ideas of India Summit will see personalities like Union ministers Nitin Gadkari and Ashwani Vaishnaw, actors Asha Parekh and Ayushmann Khurana, and authors Amitav Ghosh and Devdutt Pattanaik deliberate on what constitutes 'Naya India'.
