'When You Are Brown Women, You Need To Have Really Thick Skin': Padma Lakshmi On Racism
"I think that the things that happened to you when you are young person. They are very difficult. But when I look back at my life, I thank those bullies because it was a great training ground. They help me develop a thick skin. When you are a women, especially a brown women, the first thing you need is a really thick skin," Padma Lakshmi said while speaking on racism in the US.

"My grandfather lived in Delhi and so my mother went there to have me. For the first four years of my life, I lived in Moti Bagh, I was born in Safdarjung. I love going back to Delhi, it has the best 'chaat,' Bengali Market," Padma Lakshmi said on her birth in New Delhi.
