Bird Flu In Delhi: Kejriwal Govt On Alert As Crows, Ducks Found Dead In Jasola, Mayur Vihar, Other Areas; See Visuals

Bird flu has not been officially confirmed yet in Delhi, officials are awaiting the report. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has said that there is no Bird Flu in Delhi yet.

New Delhi: The Animal Husbandry Department of Delhi, on Saturday, received information about dead ducks and crows found at Sanjay lake and a park in Rohini Sector 15. According to the information, 10 ducklings were found dead in Sanjay lake. Samples of the two dead ducks will be sent to the lab for examination. Samples of dead crows will also be collected from the Rohini park. As of the past week, as many as 200 crows have been found dead. Their samples have been sent to Northern Regional Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, Jalandhar in Punjab to ascertain if the crows died from the bird flu. "Nearly 200 crows have died here till now. Sanitation drives are being carried out and we've shut it for visitors. Bodies of five crows were taken away by officials yesterday and they've been sent to Jalandhar for testing,” Choudhary said. Commenting on the situation, Sunil Singh Tomar from Delhi’s Animal Husbandry Department said that 11 Rapid Response teams have been set up and the situation is being monitored. According to an official from the Animal Husbandry department, around 50 birds, mostly crows, had died over the last three to four days in Dwarka, Mayur Vihar Phase 3, and Hastsal village in West Delhi. However, it is yet to be ascertained if bird flu infection is the reason." On Friday, two crows were found dead in DDA Park, Dwarka, and one sample was collected from there. Sixteen crows were found dead in DDA Park, Hastsal Village. Bird flu has not been officially confirmed yet in Delhi, officials are awaiting the report. Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, has said that there is no Bird Flu in Delhi yet.
