Starfield Story, Gameplay
As per Bethesda, this is the official setting for Starfield: In the year 2330, humanity has ventured beyond our solar system, settling new planets, and living as a spacefaring people. You will join Constellation — the last group of space explorers seeking rare artefacts throughout the galaxy — and navigate the vast expanse of space in Bethesda Game Studios’ biggest and most ambitious game.
Just like other Bethesda classics, players will get to customise their characters from the get-go, choosing everything from appearance to background and traits. However, unlike Cyberpunk 2077, no matter which setting you go for, you will start the game from the same point as everyone else.
You can switch between first-person or third-person POV throughout the game. Starfield presents an expansive, open-world experience set within a portion of the Milky Way galaxy. This region encompasses a diverse array of planetary systems, comprising a blend of imaginative and real-world celestial bodies. Players have the opportunity to explore and touch down on over 1,000 planets, not to mention numerous moons and space stations whose exact count remains undisclosed. The landscapes featured throughout the game primarily rely on procedural generation, which is later fine-tuned through manual interventions to introduce meticulously crafted content. Starfield employs a system where it dynamically generates terrain, as well as the unique plant and animal life found on a given planet. These aspects are determined by various factors such as the star of the planetary system, its atmospheric conditions, and notable points of interest as the player approaches a planet.
