Netflix Will Allow Users To Access Cloud Gaming On All Devices: Report
The aim is to avoid any potential mishaps similar to what happened with Google Stadia.
According to a recent update from Netflix, the streaming giant is working on creating its own cloud gaming service. The service will enable users to access games on any device they have. Leanne Loombe, the Vice President of External Games at Netflix, confirmed that the company is in the early stages of developing this service, as reported by The Verge. She also noted that cloud gaming will make it easy to provide users with frictionless access to gaming experiences on any screen.
Loombe reportedly stated that the company is being "super thoughtful" in its approach to building the service. The aim is to avoid any potential mishaps similar to what happened with Google Stadia. Currently, users can only view Netflix's mobile games in its app. To play them, they must download them from either the App Store or Google Play. The company believes that cloud gaming will make its titles more accessible on mobile and other platforms.

In other news, Netflix has reduced its subscription price in more than 30 countries, including Yemen, Jordan, Libya, Iran, Kenya, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria. The price cut is an effort to attract more subscribers in the face of growing competition from other streaming platforms.
Greg Peters, the Co-Chief Executive at Netflix, earlier hinted during a January earnings call that the streamer is looking for markets where they might raise rates to support ongoing content expenditures. "We think of ourselves as a non-substitutable good," he said.
According to him, Netflix also has a chance to get new customers in markets where it doesn't currently hold a dominant position.
"We know members have never had more choices when it comes to entertainment," and Netflix is dedicated to providing an experience that surpasses their expectations, a company spokesperson said.
