Rockstar Games Is On Track With Its Commitment For The Release Of GTA 6 By Fall Of 2025, Here's Why
Take-Two chairman said, "With many new titles coming in Fiscal 2026—including GTA 6 in the fall, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country—we expect to create long-term value for shareholders.”
The parent company of Rockstar Games, the maker of GTA 6, Take-Two seems to be on track with its commitment of delivering the much-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 by the fall of 2025. The company has recently published its financial results for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2025. Despite other games from the house doing well, everyone's eyes seem to be fixated on one title in particular i.e., GTA 6. The results indicate that Take-Two is on track to reach the upper range of its projected goals, with net bookings hitting $1.47 billion this quarter and an annual target still set between $5.55 and $5.65 billion.
This upsurge is primarily driven by the continued success of GTA and Borderlands franchises, as per Take-Two chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick. He said, "We have one of the strongest portfolios of owned intellectual property in our industry. With many exciting new titles coming in Fiscal 2026—including Grand Theft Auto 6 in the fall, Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country—we expect to create long-term value for our shareholders.”

The report also features a lineup of upcoming titles from 2K, including Grand Theft Auto 6, scheduled for a "fall 2025" release but limited to PS5 and Xbox Series S/X initially. Meanwhile, other anticipated titles like Civilization 7, Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, and Judas are planned for a PC release as well. For PC gamers, this likely means waiting until 2026, at the earliest, to get their hands on GTA 6.
GTA 6 Trailer 2 Dropping?
Though the game is still around a year away but the anticipation of it has been evergrowing, especially with fans wondering when the second trailer for the game will drop. The first trailer was dropped on December 5, 2023 and it has been around 11 months now with no sign of the second trailer dropping.
Just a few days back in a thread on Reddit’s r/GTA6, a user speculated that the second trailer could drop on November 6, based on an infographic detailing Rockstar’s announcement trends and recent earnings reports. However, Rockstar Games did not fulfil this wish of gaming enthusiasts and it seems like we will have to wait much longer.
