The entertainment industry is well-known for its controversies and so are the celebrities, who are part of the showbiz world. While celebs like Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor made news for their big fat Bollywood wedding, Ranveer Singh made headlines for his steamy photoshoot for a magazine.

Sajid Khan’s entry in Bigg Boss 16: The #MeToo movement swept the globe five years ago in October and again regained the attention. Sajid Khan's presence in Season 16 of Bigg Boss encountered a lot of opposition. Nine women accused him of harassing them sexually. Actors Ali Fazal, Mandana Karimi, Sherlyn and Saloni Chopra, and singer Sona Mohapatra had all called for his removal from Bigg Boss due to his nomination.
Ranveer Singh's PAPER magazine photoshoot: Ranveer Singh is known for his unique fashion choices and energetic performance on screen. This year, in September, the actor took the internet by storm when he dropped his photoshoot with PAPER magazine. The actor bared all for the photoshoot. An FIR was filed against him at the Mumbai Police Station and several social activists even started a drive of donating clothes to the actor.
Bollywood actress’ charged in 200Cr extortion case: In connection with a money laundering case brought against con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) called Bollywood actors Jacqueline Fernandez and Nora Fatehi in for questioning. Bollywood actress Pinky Irani introduced con artist Sukesh Chandrashekhar to both actresses. The Delhi office of the ED requested Nora Fatehi to appear in August and in September, the ED took Jacqueline's statement for the case numerous times.
Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s Divorce: Bollywood is where romance and real-life love stories are brought to life. But there are times that break ups and divorces make headlines. Dhanush and Aishwarya got married in 2004 and have two sons. They announced their split on social media earlier this year and asked that people respect their privacy.
Swara Bhaskar makes fun of producers through Reels: When it comes to giving opinions on topical subjects on Twitter, Swara Bhasker is renowned for being frank. The actress posted a viral Instagram Reel making fun of the filmmakers who labelled her as controversial. She split the video into two sections, where she was dancing wearing a saree and wrote, "Producers be like: She's too contentious," in the first half. And "Moi: More publicity for my film" was seen in the second half of the video. "Dheett (Stubborn) of the globe unite," was her caption.
Tweets from Richa Chadda about the Indian Army: The Gangs of Wasseypur actress Richa Chadda was racked up with sharp criticism on posting "Galwan says Hi," from her song on social media. Several celebs, including Akshay Kumar, criticised the actress for her remark. However, seasoned actor Prakash Raj came to her aid and blasted Khiladi Kumar.
Kanika Dhillon labeled as 'Hinduphobic': The screenwriter Kanika Dhillon began her career with critically renowned filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's ‘Manmarziyan’ and wrote Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar-starring film Raksha Bandhan. But the film generated controversy after Kanika's anti-Hindu tweets. She was criticised for being misogynistic and out-of-date, and the film did poorly at the box office.
International Film Festival of India Jury Member Nadav Lapid’s criticism of ‘The Kashmir Files’: Vivek Agnihotri's film ‘The Kashmir Files’ continues to make headlines. The Kashmir Files had been referred as "vulgar and propagandist" by Israeli director and IFFI jury head Nadav Lapid, whose remarks triggered a raging debate. At the 53rd edition of IFFI's closing ceremony Lapid made some remarks on the movie and debate against him gained momentum. During the process more people joined and some have defended him, but others charged him with being callous to the plight of Kashmiri Pandits.
