Vadodara: Former Bigg Boss Contestant’s ‘Younger Brother’ Detained For Threatening Comic Agrima Joshua

The National Commission for Women earlier on Sunday promised to take a strict action against Shubham Mishra

Vadodara: After facing an ire on the social media, YouTuber Shubham Mishra was detained by the Vadodara City Police on Sunday evening for giving open rape threats to female stand-up comedian Agrima Joshua for her jokes on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. ALSO READ | Amitabh Bachchan Thanks Fans For Their Wishes & Prayers: 'My Unending Gratitude And Love' The Vadodara City Police team took to the Twitter and announced that the concerned authorities took suo moto action in respect of an abusive, threatening video which was uploaded and shared on Social media by Shubham Mishra. The police further informed that they have detained him and initiated legal process for registration of FIR against him under the relevant section of IPC and IT act.
The action came after Mishra uploaded a video against Joshua in which he used filthy, derogatory and abusive language and also threatened her. In the video, he could be heard threatening Joshua of rape for her ‘jokes’ on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Soon his video went viral inviting massive rage from netizens and various celebs including Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar and comedian Kunal Kamra. Swara took to the Twitter condemning the video of Shubham Mishra by saying, "This man belongs in jail! He is openly threatening to rape a young woman, and is inciting other men to do the same.. what exactly are we waiting for ????? "Dear NCWIndia, does this concern you, we see this scumbag give open threats to a female comedian who has already apologised & taken her objectionable video down," he Tweeted.  Upon Acknowledging the content on the video, NCW earlier on Sunday promised to take strict action against Shubham Mishra. NCW took to its official Twitter handle and said: Keeping in line with  #NCW's commitment towards ensuring safety of #women online, our Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to @dgpgujarat for taking immediate action against Shubham Mishra, the man hurling abuses against a female comedian in this video.  
Furthermore, Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh who had instructed Mumbai police and Cyber cell to take action against Joshua's offending video, now also ordered to take action against Mishra for his objectionable and threatening language. He condemned the use of wrong language and asked the Mumbai police to take appropriate legal action against the person.
Shubham Mishra is a popular name on almost all the social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube. With over 298K subscribers, Mishra has gained massive popularity for showing aggressive rage towards current affairs and hot topics of the news.
