'I Only Want To See Innocence': Tripti Dimri Recalls What Sandeep Reddy Vanga Told About Her 'Negative' Role In 'Animal'

In a chat with ABP Live over email, Tripti Dimri shared what made her say 'yes' to this Sandeep Reddy Vanga- directorial.

Tripti Dimri has been capturing the hearts ever since the release of 'Animal,' directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Along with her exceptional performance, her chemistry with Ranbir Kapoor in the movie was also appreciated by the audience. Prior to this, she was seen in 'Qala', 'Bulbul' and others. In a chat with ABP Live over email, Dimri shared what made her say 'yes' to this Sandeep Reddy Vanga- directorial.

Going down memory lane, Dimri shared, "When I met Sandeep Sir, the first day we only spoke about our life experiences and everything. The next time when I met him for the film, he gave me a brief on the character and the story. He only told me my part in the film, and that's when he disclosed to me that I was going to be playing a negative character. You know how when you think of playing a negative character, you have a certain template in your mind to follow as an actor because you catch something from the things you watch, from television or movies; you have a tone set in your mind to play the negative character. But he gave me a very different idea of playing Zoya."

Recalling what Reddy told her, she said, "He told me: "I am not going to lie to you; this is not a very meaty role but a very important one. It's a negative character, but I don't want to see the negativity on her face. I only want to see love and admiration for this person, and I only want to see innocence." That came across as a challenge. I just found the character instantly very interesting because I had to keep all the motive inside and look innocent, and that's what was the main reason for me to say yes!"

Tripti also went on to share her bucket list in this industry saying, "There is no bucket list as such. All I want to do is keep picking up challenging roles, keep picking up things that inspire me as an actor, and motivate me to do well in life. I have never looked at projects thinking that they will be a success or this will be a failure. I think I look at it from the point of view of whether I will have a good time with the team, and whether I will enjoy playing this character. And, that is how I want to go about other projects in life as well."
