Travis Scott Houston Concert Tragedy: 9-Year-Old Trampled At Astroworld Dies From His Injuries; Death Toll Rises To 10

The Travis Scott Houston Tragedy that took place on November 5, has led to the loss of a 9 year after being on life support system for a week.

New Delhi: The death toll from Travis Scott’s tragic Astroworld music festival in Texas has gone up to ten after a 9-year-old boy who was injured at the concert and was on life support has passed away, a family attorney said.

As per recent reports, a nine-year-old boy from Dallas, succumbed to his injuries, on Sunday, November 14. As confirmed by the family's attorney, the boy, Ezra Blount, was on life support system for a week. He was trampled at a Travis Scott concert in Houston. Ezra's death has brought the death toll of those killed during a stampede at the Astroworld Tragedy to ten, ranging in age from 9 to 27.

American rapper Travis Scott's concert was held at NRG Stadium, in Houston, Texas on November 5. The concert had a gathering of more than 50,000 people. All hell broke loose when the crowd started pushing towards the front of the stage as the Grammy-Award nominated rapper made his appearance. The sudden chaos led to a stampede, where at least 300 people suffered minor injuries while 11 people experienced cardiac arrest.

As reported in IANS, the Blount's Attorney Ben Crump said,"The Blount family tonight is grieving the incomprehensible loss of their precious young son. This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert."

"This should not have been the outcome of taking their son to a concert, what should have been a joyful celebration. Ezra's death is absolutely heartbreaking. We are committed to seeking answers and justice for the Blount family. But tonight we stand in solidarity with the family, in grief, and in prayer."

Crump's law firm had already filed suit over Ezra Blount's injuries against Scott, promoters Live Nation and Scoremore, Cactus Jack Records and other defendants.

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner tweeted about Blount's death: "I am saddened to learn of Ezra's death this evening. Our city tonight prays for his mom, dad, grandparents, other family members and classmates at this time. They will need all of our support in the months and years to come."

So far, nine deaths had been reported including the death of a 22-year-old Indian student named Bharati Shahani. Bharati was an Indian-origin senior at the Texas A&M University.

IANS reports that in a statement to the ABC13, Ezra's father Treston Blount said that he had his son on his shoulders toward the back of the crowd, but got pushed forward when a surge began.
