New Delhi: Star Plus’ ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ is one of the most popular shows on the small screen. The daily soap starring Mohsin Khan and Shivangi Joshi is doing quite well on the TRP charts. Keeping in mind the popularity of YRKKH, the makers are all set to bring its spin-off. TV heartthrob Shaheer Sheikh will be playing the lead role in the show. As per the latest buzz, the makers have roped another actress to play an important role in YRKKH’s spin-off. A report in an entertainment portal suggested that Kaveri Priyam will play the role of the lead actor’s sister in the show. Kaveri has been part of shows like ‘Pardes Mein Hai Meraa Dil’ and ‘Naagin 2’. She also acted in the film ‘Tishnagi’. “Kaveri will play the role of Shaheer and Ritvik’s younger sister. She will have a very important role to play,” a source told IWMBuzz.

The casting process for ‘Yeh Rishta’ spin-off is going on in full swing and the makers have already roped in Sangeeta Kapure and Chaitrali Gupte. Speculations were rife that ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ actress Rupal Patel has also been approached for the show. Nakuul Mehta starrer ‘Ishqbaaaz’ was the first daily soap on Indian television to get its own spin-off, which was titled ‘Dil Bole Oberoi’. Although, the show started well, it couldn’t survive the ratings game and was merged with 'Ishqbaaaz' after five months. Zee TV’s Kumkum Bhagya’s spin-off ‘Kundali Bhagya’, which was launched in July 2017, is quite popular with the viewers. Watch this space for more updates!
