TV Actress Preetika Chauhan Arrested By NCB While Purchasing Drugs; 99 Grams Marijuana Seized

Television actress Preetika Chauhan has been arrested along with a drug peddler named Faisal while procuring drugs,  by the National Control Bureau on the charges of drugs possession, agencies reported on Sunday. The NCB-Mumbai Zonal Unit officials detained Chauhan and Faisal on late Saturday evening from Fishermen’s village at Versova. The duo was caught with 99 grams of ganja. Preetika Chauhan, 30, hailing from Himachal Pradesh, has worked in several TV serials like CID, Savdhaan India and Hanuman in the past five years. She has also acted in popular soap opera Sasural Simar Ka.  In the popular devotional serial Maa Vaishnodevi, Preetika plays Bhumidevi. NCB had got a tip-off about a deal for the contraband. The two have allegedly confessed to sourcing it from one Deepak Rathaur living in nearby upmarket Versova. Chauhan and Faisal were presented in a designated court on Sunday for remand, NCB said. The investigations are underway.

Earlier, the NCB arrested Sushant's girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik, Sushant's house manager Samuel Miranda, personal staff Dipesh Sawant and several others as part of probe in the case. Rhea spent 28 days in jail before getting bail from Bombay High Court. The NCB has also questioned Bollywood divas Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, and Shraddha Kapoor in connection with the case.
