Sreejita De To Have An Indian Wedding With Husband Michael Blohm-Pape In Goa

Sreejita De and Michael Blohm-Pape got married in a beautiful ceremony in Germany last July.

New Delhi: Sreejita De will tie the knot with her longtime partner, Michael Blohm-Pape, again, but this time in accordance with Indian traditions and rituals. Earlier, the couple got married in a beautiful ceremony in Germany last July.

According to a Hindustan Times report, the actor stated, “My parents are coming to spend the festive season with us in Mumbai, and Michael’s parents will be flying down from Germany for our Indian wedding. We had planned to have the traditional wedding in November earlier but had to push it because of some work commitments. Now, it will be happening at the beginning of next year in Goa, mostly in January or February, because after that, the weather is quite hot."

Sreejita offers more details on the ceremony, saying that it will be a 'typical Bengali wedding'. The arrangements for the next phase of celebrations have already begun. She also said that after the minimal German wedding, the preparation for the Desi wedding is in full swing.

"It will be a Bengali wedding with all the customs and will have all the functions from mehendi to haldi,” she added.

Michael is excited to take part in the wedding festivities and experience the cultural revelry of Indian events. Reportedly, after the pair got engaged in December of 2021, they started talking about weddings.

"Since the start, it has been very clear in my head that I don’t want to do a fusion thing and not mix up both,” she recalls.

Sreejita De stated that she and her fiancé are both beach lovers when asked why she chose Goa as a venue for her wedding.

“And Goa has a very close and special place in our hearts, as we spent eight months in the state during lockdown. That’s when we fell in love with the place. My parents wanted the wedding to be held in Kolkata, but I insisted it happen in Goa,” she said.

The couple, who first met in a cafe, planned on getting married by the beginning of 2021. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, their plan failed to be carried out.
