Smriti Irani Reflects on Tulsi’s Legacy

Smriti Irani, who played Tulsi Virani during the show's original run, reflected on the cultural impact of the character. Speaking to IANS, she shared,
“When I first stepped into Tulsi’s world, I couldn’t have imagined how far her story would travel—not just into living rooms, but into the hearts of millions across India. Tulsi wasn’t just a character. She became a daughter, a mother, a friend—and, for many, a reflection of their own strength, sacrifice, and conviction.”

Irani’s portrayal of Tulsi made her a household name and a symbol of moral conviction in Indian television during the early 2000s.

No Political Sabbatical, Confirms Smriti Irani

Amid speculations that Irani may take a break from politics to focus on acting, the Union Minister quickly set the record straight. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), she wrote:
“No sabbatical. Have worked both in media and politics for 25 years with only a decadal break due to my responsibility as Cabinet Minister. Never compromised on my sangathan responsibilities, never will.”

Adding to the buzz, Kyunki veteran Amar Upadhyay will also return as Mihir Virani. The Tulsi-Mihir pairing was once at the center of television’s most dramatic and beloved love stories, and their reunion has further fueled fan excitement.
