Shikha Singh Reveals She Didn't QUIT Kumkum Bhagya, Says 'Was Hoping To Get Back To Work In January 2021'

Speculations were rife that Shikha Singh has said goodbye to her popular show Kumkum Bhagya. The actress has finally reacted to the rumours.

New Delhi: Ekta Kapoor’s Kumkum Bhagya’ is one of the most loved shows on Indian television. The daily soap starring Sriti Jha and Shabir Ahluwalia has won the hearts of the viewers with its drama-packed episodes. The show has successfully completed over 1600 and continues to dominate the 9pm slot. Yesterday, we informed you that Shikha Singh, who plays the role of Aalia Mehra, will no longer be seen in the show. Shikha and her husband welcomed a baby girl last month. The couple has named their little bundle of joy Alayna Shah. Speculations were rife that the talented actress has quit the show as she wants to spend quality time with her newborn child. Reyhna Pandit, who was last seen in ‘Manmohini’, will replace Shikha as the new Aalia in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’. She has already started shooting for the show from July 1. Shikha, while talking to a leading daily, revealed that she didn’t quit the show. The ‘Mahabharat’ actress said that she was hoping to resume shooting from January 2021. Shikha also said that she hasn’t been officially informed about her getting replaced in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’.

“I haven’t been officially informed yet, about being replaced. I didn’t quit the show and was hoping to get back to work in January 2021, but I think it is unfair to expect the production house to wait for me till then. Also, I can’t resume work during the COVID-19 crisis, with a newborn at home,” the ‘Na Ana Is Des Laado’ actress told Times Of India. Shikha said that she will miss shooting with her co-stars for the show. Talking about ‘Kumkum Bhagya’, the new episodes of the show will air from July 13 on Zee TV. The production house is taking all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of the cast and crew. Sriti and Shabir recently shot for a special promo along with ‘Kundali Bhagya’ stars Dheeraj Dhoopar and Shraddha Arya. Watch this space for more updates!
