Ankit Gupta has officially confirmed his departure from the much-anticipated show 'Tere Ho Jaayein Hum', where he was set to share the screen with Priyanka Chahar Choudhary. His exit has further fueled ongoing breakup speculations surrounding the popular duo. Fans were taken by surprise when the two recently unfollowed each other on social media, adding more weight to the rumours of their split. 

Ankit opens up on backing out of the project 

Addressing his decision to step away from the show, Ankit told Bollywood Bubble, “I backed out of the project with Ravi-Sargun. I don’t think that I would be able to do something for that project right now. And maybe I need some time for myself to rejuvenate and recharge myself.” 

His statement has left fans wondering whether his decision was influenced by personal reasons or professional priorities. While Ankit has chosen to stay silent on the breakup rumors, his sudden exit has only intensified the buzz surrounding his relationship with Priyanka.

When approached by India Forums for clarification, Ankit remained tight-lipped and simply stated, “Not commenting on that.” Meanwhile, though both actors have unfollowed each other on social media, they have yet to delete their old pictures together, keeping fans guessing about their current status. 

Until recently, reports suggested that Ankit and Priyanka were considering taking their relationship to the next level. Their sudden social media activity, however, has now left their supporters confused.

Ankit and Priyanka first crossed paths on the sets of 'Udaariyaan', where their on-screen pairing won hearts. Their connection only grew stronger during 'Bigg Boss 16', further solidifying their fan base. Apart from television, the duo has also worked together in multiple music videos. 

Over the years, whenever questioned about their equation, both maintained that they were “just best friends” and preferred to keep their bond private. But with their latest social media activity, many now believe that all might not be well between them.

On the professional front, Ankit continues to impress audiences with his role as Rannvijay Rana in 'Maati Se Bandhi Dor'. He has also been part of notable shows like 'Sadda Haq', 'Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi', 'Laal Ishq', and 'Junooniyatt'. 

Priyanka, on the other hand, is gearing up for her big-screen debut in the Telugu film 'Hero Heeroine', where she will be seen alongside Divya Khosla Kumar.
